5 Cradhlastadh,

Uig, Isle of Lewis

Set in one of the most scenic parts of  the Outer Hebrides, Airebroc is a croft house in the small  hamlet of Cradhlastadh (Crowlista), at the end of a road that runs along the northwest edge of  Uig Sands.   This is one of the most beautiful beaches to be found in the Outer Hebrides.  On the far side of the bay lies the spot where the famous Lewis chessmen were discovered in 1831.

Airebroc has been a family holiday home for the past 16 years.  It is a traditional stone-built croft house, which has been modernised  while keeping its original traditional look and style.   It sleeps 6 and there is an  additional downstairs ‘spare’ bedroom.

Crowlista is in a remote location and it is easy to feel you have ‘really got away from it all’.  Nevertheless, there is an excellent shop for groceries at Timsgarry, only a mile or so away.  There is a community centre, housing a local history museum, and hosting ceilidh dances and dinners  at which visitors are warmly welcomed.

There are also two restaurants and a hotel nearby, all a short drive away, providing local variety if you want to eat out.

This web site has been put together by the owners.  Have a look round, and if there is more you would like to know, please feel free to contact us and ask.
