Sailling has become increasingly popular locally. You can launch a boat from slipways at Miabhaig or Valtos and explore the sheltered waters of Loch Roag (The local chart is available in Stornoway).

Fishing
There are hundreds of lochs on Lewis, and there is plenty of opportunity for good
trout fishing. Local guide books at Airebroc will give you some ideas, and many
trout lochs are free, but it is courtesy to let the local estate know what you intend
to do. Ask at the shop for details if you are unsure which estate a particular loch
belongs to. Salmon fishing is always private and strictly controlled -
Indoors
Highland dancing classes in Bernera; dances, ceilidhs and suppers in Erista community centre every month; ceilidh evenings at Loch Chroistean centre, painting classes, sports and fitness sessions in the Uig Community Centre gym, badminton equipment and net, table tennis, pool table and other equipment in Community Centre gym bookable by the hour at very reasonable rates, outdoor tennis court.
